| The Advanced Performers Studio formerly based at the Royal Academy of Music, is now based at LAMDA, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. It opened in 2007 and offers workshops and masterclasses throughout the year. |
APS was founded to provide training for professional and advanced singers and actors on a flexible, part-time basis, in a way that supports them and helps them to expand their careers.
Classes are held on weekends and evenings at the LAMDA, London. Members may mix and match classes to suit their needs and fit them around their working life. This enables professional performers to hone and develop their skills, as well as to refocus their careers both during and between work engagements. It also enables recent graduates and post-graduates the flexibility to continue their development once out in the workplace and to be ready for castings and performance opportunities.
APS provides a vibrant, inspiring and industry-linked environment. Members are encouraged to be proactive and ambitious in their careers. All tutors are high profile working professionals with wide-ranging teaching experience (Rada, the Royal Academy of Music, Guildford School of Acting, Oxford School of Drama, Lamda, Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview, etc). There will also be masterclasses, guest lectures and workshops by industry professionals ranging from agents, casting directors, television and theatre directors to accomplished performers.
Membership and participation in termly classes is by audition or invitation only. However, all performers who have trained at accredited drama and music schools may apply to participate in one-off workshops/masterclasses. Please attach a CV and photo to your application to info@performersstudio.co.uk
