APS in 2009:

APS moves to LAMDA

In the New Year, the Advanced Performers’ Studio will base its activities at LAMDA. After a mutually beneficial time at the Royal Academy of Music, the move will relieve some of the pressure for rehearsal space as APS continues to expand. LAMDA is located in the Old Royal Ballet School on the Talgarth Rd in West-London. It is a 2 minute walk from Barons Court tube station and a 5 minute walk from Hammersmith tube station.

In 2009 the Advanced Performers Studio will go into production with new writing in both musical theatre as well as straight plays. We have been meeting contemporary composers and playwrights with a view to finding new writing we want to produce. We are currently negotiating the possibility of acting as the creative team for a new musical which will run in the West-End in late 2009. Details to be confirmed.

Professional Classes for West End Performers

We are starting monthly 'professional singers' performance classes' in response to demand from performers who are currently in West-End shows. Exclusive to West-End performers, these classes will give them the chance to meet and work with other musical directors as well as acting/vocal coaches and work on new repertoire. Starting in the New Year these classes will be taken by Dan Bowling (MD on Joseph, supervisor of Phantom and Les Mis), Nigel Lilley (MD on Piaf,La Cage aux Folles and Spring Awakening) and Leontine Hass as vocal coach. If you are a West- End Performer and would like to book a place, please email your CV:
